There were enough exchanges against South Africa, as Wiegman promised this hour, and he said it ended in the biggest sloppiness ever seen.
England have been stuck at the back on several occasions, and it wasn’t just Williamson who made mistakes.
“We change players in different positions, so it’s not easy to adapt and get the right connections,” Wiegman mentioned.
“Maya le Tissier moved from the right side to the left and Ella Toone came into a different position. [in midfield]. That takes some time.
“I noticed some difficulties, so we have to overcome them and try to eliminate carelessness.
“We want to continue playing forward and connect better with players in different positions. I ask a lot of them.”
Earlier this hour, Wiegman said England had to deal with grievances as expectations grew on their side.
As well as claiming the Euro 2022 crown at the stadium, they reached the Women’s World Cup final in 2023.
While those two pleasing performances did not assure fans that they will be as happy when Euro 2025 begins at the end of July, there is definitely an urge to panic.
England have two more friendlies this past against Olympic gold medalists United States, controlled by former Chelsea boss Emma Hayes, and Euro 2025 will host Switzerland on November 30 and December 3 respectively.
Wiegman insists she wants to use those lawsuits to “get information” that can help them at Euro 2025, and she’s satisfied with what she’s accumulated so far.
“I think we still have more questions, but that’s what we told ourselves before this camp. We don’t need to have all the answers now,” Wiegman said.
“We have two more games [this year] and we’re just trying to get as much information as possible. We want to see more players.
“Some players want to be a minute more patient than others, but we are moving forward and we want these games to aim for different things to be closer.
“We put players in other positions that we wanted to see [against South Africa]. This is the time to do it.
“Some things I was really proud of, and at other times, of course, we can move forward.”
