The Vice President of Microsoft gaming, Kayleen Walters, has been appointed Chief of Mojang Studios.
Walters, who will assume the position in addition to his role as vice president and head of Development of Microsoft gaming franchises, will immediately work as the current Mojang chief, Åsa Bredin, is reduced to “focusing on personal objectives outside work.”
As reported by Variety, Federico San Martin will absorb the daily management of Walters franchise development.
Walters will lead Mojang Studios along with his global leadership team, where Amy Stillion “will also assume an expanded role” as chief of cabinet, who supports games of games and content studies, as well as Mojang Studios.
“The change is never easy, but I have full confidence in this team and its ability to offer incredible experiences for our players and the community,” said Microsoft Operations Director game Content and Studios, Helen Chiang, in an internal note seen by Variety
“With strong leadership and a clear vision for the future, we are well positioned to address the challenges we face in the market with speed and impulse.”
Chiang thanked Bredin for his “positive impact and contributions” from his appointment in 2021, adding: “I fully support his decision and wish him all the best while embarking in this next chapter.”
Yesterday we reported that former Mojang and Coffee spots staff has joined to form a new independent editorial seal, Three Friends.
