The first major patch notes for Marvel Rivals have been released.
Season 1: Eternal Night Falls will be released on January 10 at 1am PT / 4am ET / 9am GMT.
The vampire-themed season will introduce new characters in the form of the Fantastic Four, who will fight against the forces of Dracula.
Ahead of this, NetEase has released patch notes for an update that will reportedly allow “a broader roster to participate in more complex games, ensuring a richer, more engaging and diverse gaming experience for everyone.”
Team-Up’s abilities won’t be touched too much, however, as the developer believes players need more time to get used to the system and deploy it in-game before its effectiveness can be accurately judged.
“At the same time, regarding season bonuses and teams, we would like to clarify that given the short duration of Season 0 and everyone’s recent acclimatization to Marvel Rivals, we will not be making any major changes or adjusting team abilities in Season 1,” it said.
“Instead, we will make small adjustments to the existing Team-Up values. Fear not, because we are planning exciting redesigns and adjustments to Team-Up abilities in Season 2.”
The full patch notes can be accessed on the Marvel Rivals website.
Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play 6v6 team shooter played from a third-person perspective. It is developed by a new internal team at NetEase, which has said it is “comprised of global talent who previously worked on successful franchises such as Call of Duty and Battlefield.”
Released on December 6 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, the game reached 10 million players in its first three days of availability and reached 20 million players in 11 days.
