Spider-Man 4 has had its launch date changed slightly by Marvel, and it is almost definitely thanks to Christopher Nolan.
The next MCU Spidey film is still wrapped in a lot of mystery, especially considering that it was not particularly clear whether or not, but there are two things that we know about it: Destin Daniel Cretton is directing it, and it comes out in July in July 2026. That second is still true, but Sony has apparently changed the release date of the film in a whole week from July 24, 2026 until July 31, 2026. Reason of change? Well, there was no specific reason, but it can almost ensure that it is partly due to the fact that Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of the Odyssey came out only one week before on July 17, 2026, so this change of date of date of Launch puts a couple of weeks away between them.
It is almost definitely a wise decision by Sony, Spider-Man 4 is obviously guaranteed to make some large box office numbers given the popularity of the character, but Odyssey of Nolan probably also see incredibly well with the ease with which he can take people to cinema even for historical dramas such as Oppenheimer. Not only that, but Spider-Man Tom Holland also stars in the Odyssey, so it is a very busy July for the actor. I mean, it will be mostly busy in terms of having to make appearances in two chances of being complete press joints for what will be two of the largest films of the year, but you get what I mean.
There is the possibility that we see Holland as Spider-Man a little before July 2026, since there have been rumors floating around that the character will return to Avengers: Doomsday, which will be launched a couple of months before on May 1, 2026. That film will be filmed at the end of this year, but this will be the real test to see if people care about avengers as a whole.
