Liquid Sword makes “deeply unfortunate” job cuts for “the long -term sustainability of the study”


Studio’s study backed by Netease has confirmed a round of cuts, calling “deeply unfortunate” redundances necessary for “the long -term sustainability of the study.”

Founded by the Co -founder of Avalanche Studios, Christofer Sundberg, Liquid Swords revealed today that the plans plan to “reduce their workforce”, attributing the cuts to “part of an effort to climb the operations and adapt to the current commercial conditions.”

The Swedish study said that “fully recognizes the difficulty of the situation for its valuable team” and said it would provide all the colleagues “the greatest possible support”, but did not detail what this support will imply.

“I promised the success of our employees and shareholders and to build a study that redefines the development of the game with a small team and promoted by experts and a sustainable work model,” said Sundberg. “While we achieve much of this, changing market conditions prevented us from successful within our period.

“As a result, we must separate from the talented people who have been fundamental in our trip. This is incredibly difficult, but we remain committed to our vision and continue working on our IP and the first game with a dedicated team.”

Liquid Sword says that it is still committed to its vision of its “simplify the game development process.”

Only in the first six weeks of 2025, more than 900 developers have lost their work, with cuts and closures in Freejam, Splash damage, Piranha Games, Jar of Sparks, as well as 185 works cut by Ubisoft. We also reported that Monsters probably started another round of layoffs, as well as more employment cuts in Iron Galaxy and Sumo Group.
