Hold on to your controllers, ’cause it looks like Larian might be cooking up something smaller for their next game!

You know how much we all loved Baldur’s Gate 3, right? Well, guess what? Swen Vincke is ready to explore new horizons. He mentioned that he’s itching to work on multiple games and even dabble in something smaller this time. What marvels might they work on to make a more nimble and agile gaming experience?

Apparently, Vincke isn’t too keen on spending another six years crafting a single masterpiece. As much as we adore the dedication poured into Baldur’s Gate 3, it makes sense that the team wants to try something fresh and exciting. After all, variety is the spice of life, and that applies to games too!

Let’s now talk about Baldur’s Gate 3’s successful Steam release. Oh, boy! The numbers don’t lie. According to SteamDB, the game started with a bang, achieving a high concurrent player count of 427,000. It’s been a long time coming.  Considering how many years it spent in early access. But hey, good things come to those who wait, and boy, did we wait for something extraordinary!

You won’t believe what happened next! During the weekend, the numbers just kept soaring. Over 700,000 players were in-game at the same time, immersing themselves in the magic of Baldur’s Gate 3. Now, that’s what we call a roaring success! It just serves to highlight how adept Larian is at captivating gamers everywhere.

But, let’s keep it real; Hogwarts Legacy set the bar high with its jaw-dropping peak concurrent player count of 879,308 during its launch. Hats off to Hogwarts! Baldur’s Gate 3 has nevertheless forged its own way to glory and emerged as one of the best games of 2023. No doubt about that!

We also have some news for all you Xbox fans out there. Brace yourselves; the Xbox version might take a bit longer to hit the market. Larian’s director of publishing, Michael Douse, dropped a hint on Twitter. It seems like they’re determined to make the Xbox release just as epic as the others. The team is working tirelessly to deliver seamless drop-in, drop-out co-op on Series S, a feat never accomplished on such a scale before. Therefore we might have to wait a little longer but trust us it will be worthwhile!

For Larian Studios and all of us gamers, it’s an exciting time. A new wave of invention and creativity is promised by Swen Vincke’s ambition to investigate smaller initiatives. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next because Baldur’s Gate 3’s success is proof of their creativity. So get ready, hold on tight, and let the gaming adventures begin!
