Lakers’ JJ Redick confesses he watched game film at a car wash

JJ Redick hasn’t said anything about watching a sports movie at a car wash.

Former NBA player Baron Davis saw the Los Angeles Lakers’ first-year teacher there on Saturday and posted about it on X.

“Just ran into @jj_redick at the Car Wash. Had the laptop watching a movie!!! Player coach!!! Lakers in good hands,” Davis wrote.

Redick said a Lakers spokesperson informed him about the social media post before the team was set to host the Sacramento Kings for the second straight game.

“It’s the back-to-back circumstance,” he said, when asked how common it is for him to watch sports movies as a family. “Basically, I spent last night and this morning tying up last night’s game and looking forward to today. This morning, it was no different.”

He said his two sons played basketball in the afternoon and the car wash was next door.

“Very efficient use of time,” Reddick said. “I watch a lot of movies, but that’s not normal, no. Thank you, Baron.”

Then, defeating the Phoenix Suns 123-116 on Friday night, the Lakers bounced back for a 131-127 win Saturday over the Kings to boost them to 3-0.

Davis, a first-round pick in 1999, played 13 seasons in the NBA for the Blonde Order Warriors and LA Clippers, among others.
