The New York Knicks are on a slide. Brunson is expected to be out For at least the rest of March and maybe until the beginning of April with an ankle sprain. They are recorded as the third offensive with a lower net rating 10 from the break of the stars. And now they have lost four of their last six games after a 97-94 defeat at the hands of the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
Forgive everyone in the land of Knicks if they are running a little heat under the necklace at this time.
It is with this context in mind that we bring this, say, an energetic exchange between the Knicks coach, Tom Thibodeau, and striker Josh Hart in a waiting time group during Saturday’s defeat.
“I love Josh, you know it,” said Thibodeau after the game, which implies that he was simply trying to enliven a fire in his team. “Just whatever you start, just try to start.”
Fred Katz of athletics followed Thibodeau if he would classify the exchange as a “passionate moment” and Thibodeau said: “Yes, that’s all.”
So here is the deal: these little dust occur all the time in competitive environments. In a vacuum, it is nothing to have. But there is clearly some tension within the Knicks at this time. Mikal Bridges and Thibodeau only had one “productive” meeting After Bridges essentially called Tibs for playing the Knicks holders too many minutes. And again, the offensive has been a disaster for a while and the losses are accumulating without Brunson. Hart did not score a single point on Saturday, losing the seven shots.
This small square in the group was probably the result of the cumulative stress that has been built within the walls of the Knicks. Losing will do that. The good news is that the Knicks have a very easy career of games ahead, with clashes against the Heat, Spurs, Hornets, Wizards, Mavericks, Blazers and 76ers in seven of its next nine. Maybe they can reverse their mojo a little about this section and then recover Brunson for the end of the season before going to the playoffs with a good note.
