The long -awaited confrontation between Kevin Owens and Randy Orton will have to wait more. On Friday, Owens announced that he was out of Wrestlemania 41 with a neck injury.
Owens took the microphone on wwe SmackDown on Friday, confirming the previous speculation of his injury. The wwe superstar has been dealing with a serious neck injury for four months. A doctor recently informed Owens that he would require surgery to correct the problem.
“The truth is that I don’t know when I will have the privilege of being in front of you again,” Owens said. “What I do know is in recent years, I have learned not to give anything, and I will never give this for granted. So I want to thank them, and I’m sorry, boys.”
Owens has not fought for a televised match since January 24, but had a pair of physically exhausting vision matches while injured. His staircase match against Cody Rhodes in Royal Rumble and the unauthorized game with Sami Zayn in the elimination camera were praised for his physicality.
Owens’s injury puts Orton Wrestlemania 41 Status in limbo. wwe has worked for Orton vs. Owens for five months. Owens turned on his teammate Company Orton in November, hitting him with a Piledriver package. Orton was discarded from television before returning in the March elimination camera.
A frustrated Orton reacted to his cancellation of parties by Rkoing SmackDown general manager, Nick Aldis, possibly planting the seeds for a narrator turn.
