Nueva Orleans – Kendrick Lamar said he would wait “stories narration” when he acts on the mid -time show of Apple Music Super Bowl Lix in New Orleans on Sunday.
“I have always been very open about the storytelling throughout my catalog and my music history,” Lamar said. “And I have always passionate to bring that in any scenario in which it is, be it a world tour or if there are 500 people in Key Club, I have always had a form of that. So I always like to carry in that sense, make me make me People listen, but also see and think a little. “
Lamar, who will become the first solo rap artist to head a part -time show of Super Bowl, told a room full on Thursday about his trip and his recent successes. He will be joined on Sunday by the winning singer of Grammy Sza, who will also turn with him this summer.
Lamar said neither of them has had the opportunity to reflect on the meaning during this week’s chaos.
“Everything moves quickly, in regards to production and rehearsals and things. So we talk, but we really don’t have the opportunity to establish myself at the time,” he said. “For me personally, seeing his career and where it comes from, it’s amazing to see … I always had it, man. I always had it. And I feel honored to be next to a talent.”
Last week, Lamar won five Grammy Awards for “Not Like Us”: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Interpretation and Best Musical Video.
Lamar reflected on his victory after the Grammys and what it meant for the rap genre.
“When people talk about rap, man, the conversations I hear, they think it is only rap and that it is not a real art form,” he said. “Then, when you put records like this at the forefront, remember people that this is more than something that arrived 50 years ago, because this is really as great as an art form and a genre like any other genre.”
Although Lamar did not offer any detail about the 13 -minute half -time segment, he said “It is wild” to try to condense it after leaving a 90 -minute list for the Big Steppers tour.
“It’s interesting because it allows you to know where you are in your perspective and how you think about the catalog and music,” Lamar said. “For me, I love being present. I love being present, man. It is my favorite. It is very difficult for me I feel and the energy I have now, that is the energy of Los Angeles for me.
