Jordan Mailata said that Jalen Hurts used skeptics as ‘motivation’: how the qb eagles shone when the most mattered

Philadelphia – Jalen Hurts didn’t need much to discover how to win football games. That has always been in his DNA.

How well the Hurts played in the last four months of the season was a fundamental reason why the Philadelphia Eagles won a Super Bowl championship, and why the Hurts was the MVP of the Super Bowl.

The Eagles won the last 14 games that began and finished. Hurts was incredibly efficient at the end of the games in the regular season and the playoffs, but the skeptics still remained.

Everything that wounds was completing 37 of 50 passes (74%) for 463 yards and three touchdowns to an interception between the game championship game and the Super Bowl. Hurts had a rating of 114.3 pin and averaged 9.3 yards for attempt. That does not include its 88 yards by land and four touchdowns by land, 72 of them and a score arrived in the Super Bowl Lix 40-22 Blopling on the chiefs (the 72 yards per land are a NFL record for quarterbacks in a Super Bowl).

“It’s almost as if I had used it as motivation,” said Eagles’s left Tackle and Captain Jordan Mailata. “We see it, but we choose not to listen or use it as motivation. For some reason, the more doubts there is more incredible that the boy plays. I am surprised by that every time.”

The numbers show mailata are not lying. Hurts was incredible in the fourth quarter of games from the rest week (week 5), completing 37 of 45 passes (82.2%), for 471 yards with three touchdowns and zero interception NFL He also had five touchdowns by land in that section, with so many total touchdowns (8) as incomplete (8) during that section.

Once again, why the Eagles did not lose any pain game and ended since October.

“I don’t know what it is. I can’t talk about the guy, but I had to say something, I think that’s how he works,” Mailata said. “He loves to show that skeptics are wrong.

“I think he really walks to speak is cheap. That kind of mentality. It is a mentality of the old school. He is an old head, man. Sometimes he has 26. I feel he is 56 years old.”

Hurts completed 85 of 117 passes (72.6%) in the second half of the games from that farewell week (week 6), launching 1,208 yards with seven touchdowns to zero interceptions for a 125.6 league leader rating. Hurts also had 269 yards per land and 10 touchdowns by land in that section.

And his 17 TouchDowns to zero gifts in the second half of the games since the first week of October were as clutch as it seems.

“Everything I really think is the effort that was made,” said Hurts. “All hard work, blood, sweat and tears they invest in the game. With the hope of being the last man standing and in fact we were the last man standing.

“I think that all this year has expanded me in terms of my desire to win. I learned how everything after a game and where my heart was, like the joy of winning it, it still has no comparison with pain. Of losing it.
