The Rock has had legendary encounters with Hulk Hogan, John Cena and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, but he still has 10 rounds left against the very spicy chicken wings of the “Hot Ones.” According to “Hot Ones” host Sean Evans, efforts to land the elusive interview once resulted in an odd request.
“Hot Ones” is a popular YouTube media show featuring celebrities answering questions while eating increasingly spicier wings. The virtual platform has welcomed Shaquille O’Neal, Gordon Ramsay, Billie Eilish, Tom Holland and “Stone Cold” during the day, just to showcase some of Hollywood’s celebrities.
Evans and the “Hot Ones” staff have been trying to trap Dwayne Johnson in this system for years. Evans recalls a correspondence with The Rock’s staff that gave “Hot Ones” an atypical ray of hope.
“We have been launching [The Rock] Obviously for years and one time I got a note that said, ‘Would you be willing to do, instead of wings, grilled salmon strips?’ And in my head I thought that had to come out of his mouth…” Evans told Bloomberg. “That’s the closest we’ve ever gotten. And then it failed.”
Talks between “Hot Ones” and The Rock are said to have fallen through, as we have yet to see “The Most Electrifying Man” hosting SmackDown over highly spiced salmon strips.
