Ireland Republic: The victory at home against Türkiye ‘was not pretty’ – Carla Ward

Despite the dominance of the Republic in the ball, they could not create too many clear opportunities and let them breathe a sigh of relief when Arzu Karabulut skewed with a late opportunity to match.

Ward explained that the condition of the launch in Talloght, which Shamrock Rovers had played his link of the UEFA Conference League the last 16 against mold the night before, hit his approach to the game.

“I think it would have been an injustice [Turkey scoring]I don’t think they have caused Courtney Brosnan problems, “Ward added.

“It was difficult in the field, and we had to adjust after heating when we said that we could not build in a certain way, so we had to look at something slightly different.

“The way we settle, particularly with the objective, is what we have been working on all week. We want to do more of that, of course, but we have to win the victory at this time.”

Ward was asked about the best position of Captain Katie McCabe after she was once in the left.

“We have to try [find her best position] Because she is world class and I think ideally, we carry it above in the field, “Ward explained.

“At this time, we do not necessarily have too much coverage in that area, so it is what is best for the team, but we want to take it above in the field.”
