The BCCI is not a firm date for the BCCI for the return of Mayank, but if it meets all physical conditioning parameters along with increasing its bowling workload, it could appear in the second half of the IPL.
Mayank’s lack of availability in the first half of the tournament is a setback for LSG, which had held it for INR 11 million rupees (approximately $ 1.31 million) before the mega auction. It was an astronomical leap monetarily for Mayank, who had been bought by INR 20 Lakh before the 2024 season as a quick -free bowel player.
Mayank commanded such a large salary mainly due to its ability to play vertiginal speeds, crossing more than 150 kmph consistently, which earned him the consecutive awards of the game player in his first two games in the IPL. Encouraged for their potential talent, national selectors added Mayank to the group of rapids given rapid contracts.
Mayank’s time in IPL 2024 was limited to only four games due to persistent lateral tension in the last two games he played. During the rehabilitation, Mayank chose a separate injury that delayed his return, but finally played the T20is of Bangladesh. However, he collected another injury immediately after which he forced him to return to rehabilitation. While the BCCI has not officially shared details about Mayank’s injury, it is understood that Mayank has an injury related to the low back on the left side.
In February, the former Bologna player from India Zaheer Khan, who assumed the position of director of the LSG team, said the franchise was working closely with the BCCI medical team to draw a road map for the return of Mayank. However, Zaheer emphasized that he would only want a Mayank totally in the chair. “As much as we are interested in having it [play IPL 2025]We want 150% in a form not only 100% in form, so we will do everything possible to take it there, “he said.
LSG will play its first game of the season against Delhi Capitals on March 24 in Visakhapatnam, under the new captain Rishabh Pant.
