As a result, Ganguly will take over as the franchise’s director of cricket in the WPL for the next two seasons (2025 and 2026). Ganguly will move to the IPL from the 2027 season when JSW Sports becomes active again. He has worked at Badani as a member of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as a fielding tutor and scout in IPL 2022. Badani has also had coaching experience in T20 leagues of other countries – he used to be an associate tutor for Sunrisers Jap Cape in 2023, once which received the inaugural name SA20; He was also a training guide for Jaffna Kings when the franchise won the real version of the Lanka Premier League.
Badani has also been part of teams under the Capitals umbrella in franchise leagues in other countries. Badani, who will soon turn 48, was the top coach at Dubai Capitals (owned by the GMR team) and finished runner-up in January at the ILT20. Recently, Badani was also a training guide for Seattle Orcas in the MLC (Main League Cricket), another franchise where GMR Team has a stake.
