Jermaine Jenas will return to Talksport broadcast this weekend, telling the station that “returning to a better person” six months after he was fired from the BBC.
The presenter and former Football was fired from the BBC match of the day and the only program after complaints about the behavior in the workplace.
Jenas told Shebahn Aherne from Talksport on Friday that “the most important thing in this situation is to assume responsibility” and that he had been “looking inward, making some improvements.”
Shortly after the BBC fired Jenas, he told The Sun that he had sent “inappropriate messages”, he was “ashamed” and “disappointed everyone.”
Jenas had his contract terminated for allegedly sending inappropriate messages to a colleague.
The BBC did not reveal more details about the accusations against it.
The former soccer player told The Sun that he sent “inappropriate messages” to two colleagues in the only program, but insisted that “he did nothing illegal” and said they were sent to “two adults of consent.”
The presenter added that the texts were a “big mistake” for which he was “deeply unfortunate”, and added that “it was not a sex pest.”
Jenas, who is married to four children, told the newspaper that he was receiving therapy and accepted that “fell below [the] “BBC standards.
At that time, Talksport said that “there were no plans for Jermaine to transmit as a presenter in Talksport in the immediate future.”
He said Friday that he returned to the radio station and that he would be “doing what I love most, that he is talking about football.”
Aherne asked how he could assure the listeners he had changed.
“You must assume responsibility for your actions [and] Why you are in this position, “he said.
“And there is a reason why this has happened. And once you accept those things, you can work in yourself and you can work on the other things and you can work in your family and work towards a brighter future.”
When asked about the impact that his actions had had on his family, he said he realized that “they did not deserve to be in that position.”
Jenas added that he intended to “return [the] Way “of being a model to follow.
He will return to his work as a football expert this weekend as Co-Commentator of Aston Villa vs Tottenham in the FA Cup for Talksport.
Jenas had been organizing Talksport’s Drive program when the news of his BBC dismissal was made public.
Jenas made his football debut at the age of 17. He played for his childhood team Nottingham Forest, then Spurs and Newcastle United. Then he played 341 times and made 21 appearances for England.

Jenas directed his attention to the media work as an expert while recovering from a knee injury and became a regular in the game of the day, as well as BT Sport.
He began acting as a presenter of One Show in 2020 after Matt Baker’s departure.
