The Rod of Wisdom can only be obtained by crafting rods. Diving down that particular rabbit hole means jumping through hoops to unlock the Ancient Archive.
Once the chamber doors have been opened, you will be ready to craft the Rod of Wisdom, as long as you are level 40 and have the necessary crafting materials.
Is the Rod of Wisdom good?
Wisdom Rod increases the XP gained from a fish by 70% to 100%. It’s like having the Double XP gamepass applied for free, but only on this specific rod.
Whether combined with a quick enchantment or another XP-boosting upgrade, Wisdom Rod is a great way to level up to get higher-level crafted rods.
Take it to Captain’s Goldfish Pond in Forsaken Shores and watch your level increase at a dizzying rate.
With all the possible XP boosts, a single Captain’s Goldfish can generate over 65,000 XP. For the average player, expect something closer to 10,000 XP per catch, or more during an XP weekend. Either way, it’s too high for a reliable catch.
Since you should catch one 25% to 35% of the time, it won’t take you long to reach your goal.
How to get the crafting materials for the Rod of Wisdom
To make the Rod of Wisdom, the following materials are required:
- 1x ruby
- 2x Mythical Driftwood
- 1x magic thread
- 50,000 CAD
How to get magic thread
Magic thread can be wound anywhere and completely by accident. If you’re at level 40, you probably already have around 30 in your inventory. That’s not the challenge.
How to get a Ruby in Fisch
The Ruby, on the other hand, can only be obtained through meteors from the Ancient Island.. Now, unless you’re loaded and already have the Rod of Depths or the Rod of Heaven, it’s not worth burning through your cash reserves on Meteor Totems to grind a Ruby. It’s too risky.
Instead, play as usual and keep an eye out for meteor messages. We have only looted 4 meteors and we have 2 meteors to our name. Either we are very lucky or they are simply not that rare.
How to get mythical driftwood in Fisch
And we have similar tips for Mythical Driftwood. Driftwood can be easily obtained anywhere using trash bait. Coupled with a mythic staff and its 30% mythic mutation chance, getting this material won’t take long.
If you skipped the Mythic Rod in favor of something like the Crystallized Rod, it can theoretically cost less to obtain both through Appraisals.
You would only have to manage both with about 200 rolls of C$450 to break even on the rod’s C$110,000 price tag. And that is without taking into account the time dedicated to the evaluation.
