Do you feel like Fisch could soothe the Breath of the Wild itch even more? You’re right. and the fish glider can help.
The Fisch glider is a unique, permanent item used to reach new locations. Are they necessary? Not yet. But it’s still a good way to slide off high cliffs and peaks and get to some interesting little areas.
How to get the Fisch glider
You can purchase the glider from Fisch for the modest price of C$900 at three locations: Ancient Isles Merchant, inside Desolate Deep, or on Roslit Island.
Given its proximity to the default spawn location in Moosewood, the latter is usually the quickest way to get the glider. It’s also the first place the glider was available from, if you’re into that sort of thing.
In Roslit, you will find the glider on a surface next to the fisherman and another NPC just above the village and to the right. They are under a tent.
It is a very flat looking object that is essentially just a piece of cloth, so look for something like a blanket to spot it. Interact with it to purchase it and add it to your backpack.
You can follow that same path to reach the Roslit Volcano and the Magma Rod.
Unlike diving equipment, GPS or fishing radar, you can only use the glider when you need it. That means you have to click on it in the action bar while in the air.
You can’t equip it and just click anywhere to deploy it. This makes it very difficult to use with a controller.
Is the glider worth it?
At the moment, the Fisch glider has no direct purpose. You can use it to reach some unique locations, like where the Aurora Totem is located, but you won’t unlock anything new or find fish, rods, or other unique collectibles.
What you can do is climb inside the Roslit volcano, slide off the peaks of Old Island, or cross the gorge in Vertigo to talk to a little ghost.
This is speculation at best, but we believe there will come a time when unique and interesting locations will only be accessible via the Glider. Just like scuba diving equipment is needed to reach Desolate Deep.
When that time comes, you will be the talk of yours truly because you will know where to find the glider. Sell your services.
Basically, you won’t earn that C$900 in catches outside of Brine Pool, but over time you could save by sliding down a mountain.
