Actress Ashly Burch has responded to the leaked images of AI Aloy, who made the rounds earlier this week.
The images in question showed a Sony employee related to an AI version of the horizon leader. The employee made AI YOY a series of questions, such as “how are you”, to which the character replied that he was fine, but “deal with sore throat”, before sharing a little horizon.
Now, Burch, who along with starring as Horizon’s Aloy has appeared in a series like Life is Strange, Borderlands and The Last of Us, has shared his thoughts about the filtered images.
“I saw the demonstration of technology earlier this week,” Burch said in a shared video in his social channels, adding that Horizon Guerrilla developer had been in contact with her to tell her that “demonstration did not reflect anything that was actively in development.”
Meanwhile, Sony “did not use any of [Burch’s] Performance “for demonstration”. So none of my facial or voice data, “Aoy’s actress said.” Guerrillas has Aloy as a character. “
But still, “I feel worried,” Burch continued. “I am not worried about guerrillas, or Horizon, or my performance, or my career specifically, even. I feel worried about this form of art.
“The game‘s performance as an art form.”
Burch continued talking about the current SAG-AFTRA attacks, of which AI is a large part of the discussion. “We are asking for protections,” Burch said. “From what we are fighting is that you must obtain our consent before making a version of AI in any way. You have to compensate us fairly and you must tell us how you are using this double AI.”
Burch added that he does not feel worried because technology exists, or even because playgrounds want to use it, reasoning “of course they do, they always want to use technological advances.”
“I imagine that a video like this that has the performance of someone attached. That has the voice, face or movement of someone. And the possibility that if we lose this fight, that person will have no resource,” said the actress. “They would not have any protection. Any way of defending themselves.
“And that possibility … makes me very sad. My heart hurts. It scares me.”
Burch declared that he loves this industry and the form of creative art. She wants “there to be a new generation of actors”, and that there are “so many incredible game performances” of those actors.
“I want to continue, do this job, and if we don’t win, then that future is really committed,” Burch said. “I am not really trying to put any playground specifically in Blast, certainly not guerrillas, because again, I do not believe … Technology is not the problem. game companies that wish to use technology is not the problem. The problem is that we are currently on strike and the negotiation group will not accept to give us common sense protections.”
Burch closed stating that he supports the strike, and has always done so. “Fighting is what we have to do to protect the future and longevity of this race that we all love so much.”

The AI remains a hot topic and several video game developers have flirted with technology. Last month, Microsoft announced Muse’s announcement, a new “generative advance of the” designed to help “game ideation.” Also in February, Take Two Interactive Boss Strauss Zelnick opened on his views on AI, calling the concept of artificial intelligence “an oxymoron.”
Meanwhile, the activation owned by Microsoft was recently criticized for its use of generative, admitting that a content in the game in Call of Duty has been created using technology.
