Look, I know you might be a little fed up with GTA 6 fans desperate for a second trailer clutching at straws so hard they’re about to get kicked out of Macccy Ds for their stuff that might indicate when it might come such a thing. but some of them have done it again. The spark that lit the fire of speculation this time? Some numbers on a shipping container.
To be fair, at least it’s not that different from what’s made people angry before, which includes moons, playlists, and the number 27 over the course of the final months of 2024.
So what has happened to infuriate GTA 6 superfans when they clearly should have been reviewing last week’s Switch 2 reveal as true GTA 6 true truthers? Well, just like with the moon theories, Rockstar Games posted an image in a Twitter post about some stuff for GTA Online.
“Claim a free Vapid Dominator GT muscle car and more with GTA+,” he wrote, “Members also get bonuses on priority FIB files and Terrorbyte client missions, save with discounts on Arcade properties, and much more.” So, just a ‘hey, join our premium subscription, you’ll get a free car, please give us money’ post, accompanied by a nice photo of a Dominator driving by some shipping containers, in case you forgot what it looked like one.
But wait, in the words of Billy Mays, there’s more. An eagle-eyed fan on the GTA 6 subreddit quickly spotted some numbers on a red shipping container to the left of the car. This is how mathematics began. All the numbers in the container, except for a two that is in a box, which I assume is a special anti-theorizing box that you pay for because you are sick of this nonsense, were added up, giving a total of 30. So, the theorized poster, January 30, 2025. Trailer two date, pre-order.
Oh, and they added that January 30 is a Thursday, which is the same day of the week that the final release dates for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 were announced. Phew! Coincidence, I think not. They also added that Rockstar’s next earnings call is on February 6, because, you know, Rockstar is doing something, so surely they’ll finally do what this fan wants.
Even many commenters on the GTA 6 subreddit, a place where theories like this are most likely to be heard, don’t believe this. So, with any luck, it turns out to be 100% accurate, giving us all a good laugh.
Do you at least find the two theories in GTA 6’s endless trailer amusing, if only as a distraction from any discourse about how much it might cost? Let us know below!
