Harrison Smith will remain with the Minnesota Vikings for a 14th season, and the parties accept a reviewed contract by 2025.
A source told ESPN that the one -year agreement will pay Smith approximately $ 10 million in this next season.
Smith, the second of the two first round of the Vikings in 2012, also took some time after seasons 2022 and 2023 to decide if he wanted to continue his career. He decided to return both occasions, citing his appreciation for the style of coach Kevin O’Connell, as well as the creativity and innovation that coordinator Brian Flores brought to the team’s defensive scheme.
Playing the last two seasons with flowers, Smith was responsible for many of the readings and calls prior to the SNAP that hinder the coverage of the Vikings for opposite field marshal.
Smith, 36, was not the player who had been before in his career, registering a total of three interceptions, four catches and three loose balls forced in 33 games since the beginning of the 2023 season. But Flores said on multiple occasions that Smith’s presence allowed him to add complexity to his game plans.
In 13 seasons, Smith has intercepted 37 passes, defended a total of 96 passes, registered 20.5 captures and made 1,126 cup. He was appointed All-Pro in 2017 and has been invited to six Pro Bowls.
