Nashville, Tenn. – The cost of exchanging until the first selection in the draft next month to select Cam Ward has increased after the Tennessee Titans saw the former Miami Marshal to work on their professional day on Monday.
The Titans plan to perform additional private training and a launch session with Ward, whom the team has been impressed more and more, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN on Tuesday. Tennessee is still willing to listen to offers for the first selection, but now he will take an even stronger package for the Titans to move down, sources told Schefter.
Ward had an impressive presentation on the professional day of Miami. At one time, he deployed and completed a pass and then shared some words with the general manager of the Titans, Mike Borgonzi, and the president of Football Operations Chad Brinker after the play.
“[I told them] “I’m solidifying today,” Ward said after training. “They finally saw me launch a person. That should be all they need to see.”
Ward’s only season in Miami resulted in 4,313 aerial yards, 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The 2024 Heisman trophy finalist established single -season school records for air yards, TouchDowns, completion (305) and termination of completion (67.2).
Ward did not receive many scholarship offers such as recruiting zero stars outside the West Columbia high school in Texas. He enrolled in Encarnate Word and launched for 6,908 yards and 71 touchdowns in just 19 games in 2020 and 2021. He transferred to the state of Washington before the 2022 season and spent two years there. Ward launched 6,966 yards and 48 touchdowns with 16 interceptions in two seasons before transferring to Miami.
The Titans are among the necessary field marshal teams after a frustrating first season under chief coach Brian Callahan. Tennessee gave the second round of 2023 to Will Levis the opportunity to claim the future of Mariscal de Campo de la Fraquicia. The initial struggles and a shoulder injury finally led Levis to make banks in favor of veteran Mason Rudolph.
The Titans ended with a 3-14 record, which achieved them the first general selection, and Rudolph has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Titans signed the Field Marshal of the Brandon Allen race, giving them two quarters under contract.
Ward has repeatedly said that he is not too worried about being the best choice. But he is excited to play for Callahan, who has a story of working with field marshal, including the member of the Payton Manning Hall, the winning field marshal of the Super Bowl Matthew Stafford and Joe Burrow.
“I think coach Callahan is one of the best boss coaches,” Ward said. “The things he did with Joe Burrow when he first entered the league made him really successful.”
