Fuentes: Robinson goes on Friday or Sunday for the return of the Knicks

The New York Knicks center, Mitchell Robinson, points to his debut in the season against the Grizzlies in Memphis, Tennessee or Sunday against the Heat in Miami, sources told ESPN.

Robinson, marginalized since he underwent an out -of -season ankle surgery, has been updated questionable to face the Grizzlies, the first time he has had that designation this season.

The Knicks have brought Robinson gradually in their rehabilitation of surgery and they are expected to be cautious with their minutes while it opens, the sources said. He has completed several scrimmages 5 against 5 in the last two weeks.

Robinson, who took second place in the NBA in offensive rebounds last season, will trust that he bring a defensive anchor to play with Karl-Anthony Towns, who has spent 99% of his minutes in the center this season, according to ESPN’s investigation.

Robinson played only 31 games last season. He underwent ankle surgery in December and returned at the end of March, but was then diagnosed with an injury to the left ankle stress during the New York First Round Playoff series against the Filadelphia 76ers and the last six games of the second round series against the Indiana Pacers were lost.

Then he underwent the second ankle surgery in May.
