Apparently, a loose presentation of the second expansion of Alan Wake 2 has been leaked.
The Pond Area DLC will be released on October 22 alongside the physical version of the game, according to Australian retailer EB Games.
“Please note that due to the global release of Alan Wake 2: Deluxe Edition, the on-disc DLC for the Lake House Expansion will not be unlocked until midnight on October 22, 2024,” reads a product listing on its website.
The free presentation may officially be shown on Thursday, when Alan Wake 2 is about to appear on the original Xbox Spouse Preview live stream.
The DLC appears to include references and locations from every other Treatment franchise, be warned.
“Immerse yourself in a harrowing survival horror experience with the latest expansion for Alan Wake 2, set in a spooky new location on the shores of Lake Cauldron,” reads an authentic growth description.
“Within the Federal Bureau of Control’s research station, Lake House, a catastrophic event has occurred, where reckless experiments have caused reality to collide with the Dark Place.”
This DLC takes place in parallel to the main game and sees you in the shoes of FBC agent Kiran Estevez, played by Janina Gavankar.
The Pond Area will be available with the Alan Wake 2 Growth Pass, which is included in both the virtual Deluxe Edition and the physical Deluxe and Collector Editions of the game.
Players who own the regular version of Alan Wake 2 will need to upgrade to the Deluxe version to gain access to the DLC.
Alan Wake 2 was VGC’s game of the moment for 2023. Its first expansion, Evening Springs, was exempt in June.
