When I know new people now, they often introduce me as the FLP boy. I have played the game for five years and this is the best season I have had for a mile. I ended around the 13,000 season before the last one, which is still really good, but nothing to scream.
It becomes a real part of your life when you are doing so well and makes me commit more to research.
In previous seasons, I would move a little on Friday and then made my transfers. I would not be thinking about the game all week. This season, FPL is something that I consider a lot and my mood affects a lot.
It is strange to know that if suddenly I leave, I will lose a bit of what makes me unique.
During the weekend, I see as many games as I can. If one of my players is involved, I want to see how they work, instead of just verifying how many points they have collected later.
During the first days of the week, I will review my decision -making process of the previous weekend.
Then I will see what the FPL content creators will publish on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
On Friday, I will see the press conference of each club, reviewing who is injured. Even if the player is not in my team, I want to know.
On Saturday, I make my transfers at 10:30, just before the deadline, so I have all my information updated.
Throughout this process, I am speaking endlessly with friends and family because it is very easy to obtain a vision of the tunnel. My brother is also a mass fanatic of FPL, so we have phone calls for hours, just chatting about teams.
I also look for five weeks of play in the future, thinking about who to buy and who to get rid of. It is important to take into account when the games land, because you have weeks of game where the teams play twice and the weeks of the teams in which the teams do not play at all.
I have planned to play my wild card, which allows infinite transfers, in two weeks. Around the wild weeks, I will build many drafts of different teams and compare them to each other next to each other. I already have about 10 draft equipment that I could use.
I also trust my instinct, because I try to keep in mind that it is a game and it is supposed to be fun.
My favorite part of FPL is the community. All are passionate about the game, so we are always sharing opinions and advice, trying to make the ‘optimal’ team. There is no hierarchy at all, just people who join.
