In the absence of Howe, the assistant managers Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones will lead Newcastle for the visit of Ruben Amorim’s side to St James park.
Tindall stood up for Howe at a press conference prior to the game on Friday.
Last month, Howe guided Newcastle to her first national trophy for 70 years with a well -deserved victory in the Capao Cup final over Liverpool in Wembley.
Newcastle is currently seventh at the Premier League table.
Howe, born in Amersham, has been in charge of the Uracas since November 2021, when she happened to Steve Bruce as a club chief coach.
Newcastle is over 11, fourth and seventh in the last three seasons.
Howe has taken over 165 games in all competitions for Newcastle, winning 84 drawing 36 and losing 45 of them.

He had two spells by Bournemouth on both sides of Brief Stint in Burnley, and has been spoken as future manager of England.
