The next game of the studio published by Disco Elysium has been revealed.
ZA/UM Studio has revealed his next game, currently known by the name of the C4 project, which describes as “a new espionage role -playing play that combines the introspection of the player, the deep dialogue promoted by the character and the high -risk encounters directed by the dice rolls.”
According to a press release, the world of the game “is full of shady characters that help move the pieces for competitors geopolitical powers in a hidden conflict game.”
The players have the task of completing “a desperate task” that could see them “lose their life, or much worse, be exposed for what they really are.”
The players take control of an operant, who fulfills a “questionable global power”, and has to participate in a “vicious and clandestine struggle for truth and influence.”
According to the study, project C4 will allow players to take psychoactive substances to alter their character’s mind, saying: “Players must go with any comfort that can survive the violent canvas of the real.”
While the most notable launch of ZA/UM was album Elysium, it is unlikely that many of the Elysium album team will get involved with this new project, given the conflicts between the company and its former employees in recent years, especially the chain of explosive accusations made at the end of 2022 by the old Ellysium album developers and the owners of the study that fired them.
In November 2022, the director of the Ellysium Disc play Robert Kurvitz and art director Aleksander Rostov said that after a Estonian company called Tütreke Oü acquired a majority participation in the company, “they were quickly excluded from daily operations”, their “employment was completed” and its “access to the company’s information was closed.”
Then they alleged that Tütreke Oü acquired the study “for fraud” by taking money illegally from ZA/UM itself and use it to buy its majority participation.
Za/Um then responded by denying fraud accusations, and said several employees had been dismissed due to “atrocious misconduct.”
Last year it was reported that ZA/UM was dismissing a quarter of his staff and canceling an independent expansion for album Elysium. It was stated that this was the third cancellation of the study, after a sequel to album elysium and a science fiction game.
Meanwhile, in October, two separate studies formed by former ZA/UM personnel were announced on the same day: Longdue games (which is said to be working on a spiritual successor of album Elysium) and dark mathematics games (which is working at XXX Nightshift, another RPG Detective).
