Deshaun Watson trauma replacement: Browns quarterback ruled out, then injured Achilles tendon in first half against Bengals

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was taken ill with delayed non-contact trauma in the second quarter against the Cincinnati Bengals. The team later ruled Watson out for the rest of the game with Achilles trauma.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson replaced Watson at center and then Watson was carted off the field.

Thompson-Robinson entered Sunday’s game as Refuse. 2 quarterback moment Jameis Winston is the disaster quarterback.

The Bengals led 7-0 when Watson was unwell. He was 15-for-17 with 128 yards, wrong touchdowns and wrong interceptions before the trauma.

Cleveland is 1-5 these days and has been struggling all season. Watson has 1,020 passing yards with 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions so far this season.

Watson skipped the 2021 season due to a pledge dispute with the Texans. He sat out the first 11 games of the 2022 season, his first with the Browns, serving time for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy due to sexual misconduct. He played only six games in 2022 and only six games in 2023, with no future due to trauma. This season, he played just six full games before suffering likely season-ending trauma.
