The New Orleans Saints restructured Derek Carr’s contract this low season, but guaranteeing that quartback remains with the team during the 2025 season. That does not mean that everything is fine between both sides. Carr looked for an exchange before reworking his treatment, according to Neworleans.football, and his relationship with the Saints remains “dim in the best case” as the club explores possible field marshal of the future.
This occurs weeks after the previous reports indicated that Carr was interested in exploring its value in the open market, although the Saints apparently did not want to free or exchange the veteran. In turn, Carr publicly admitted that he would not be willing to take a salary cut, and the two parties finally agreed to rebuild their four -year agreement and $ 150 million, pushing tens of millions to future seasons.
Anyway, the Saints are “very in the field of Mariscal de Campo,” according to Nick Underhill, especially with regard to the draft. This is perhaps the reason why Carr still feels that he is on trembling terrain, despite the contract.
At least publicly, the Saints are content with Car as his expected initiator of 2025.
