Dark Glade: Expedition 33 Trailer Finds Andy Serkis, Ben Starr, Charlie Cox and More

Andy Serkis, Ben Starr, Jennifer English and more will star in the upcoming turn-based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as seen in a trailer without the use of the emblem.

While Starr (Clive in Ultimate Myth 16) and English (Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3) were known to be voiced characters, the rest of the cast was unknown until now. Serkis is, of course, best known for playing Gollum in The Lord of the Rings films and is no stranger to video games after his work on Ninja Beginning.

English will be joined by other friends from the Baldur’s Gate 3 cast, Devora Wilde and Tracy Wiles, while the likes of Charlie Cox (Stardust), Kirsty Rider (Sifu), Shala Nyx (Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Independence) and Lavish Keeble ( Just right). Omens) will be all properties.

Throughout the exposition, the unused trailer (above) shows more gameplay and its surreal world.

Cox, English and Rider will play Gustave, Maelle and Lune respectively, characters noticeable in previous trailers.

Serkis will play Renoir, a “forceful and passionate man” who “knows that victory requires sacrifice”; While Starr will play games in the “Dangerous Stranger” Verse. It is unknown exactly what roles those characters will play within the story.

With Eurogamer yet to test Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, I was very inspired by a hands-on preview before Gamescom, due to its inspiration from vintage RPGs in the Ultimate Myth and Character design.

The game has also been praised for its action-focused turn-based combat. “I expected turn-based fans to stand up and say ‘oh, this looks cool,’ but I actually didn’t expect this community to be so excited,” witty director Guillaume Broche told me. “It’s like we woke up a sleeping dragon.”

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available for release on PS5, Xbox One X/S, and PC (Steam, Epic), and will be available on Game Pass in the future.
