What to know

The Grizzlies have enjoyed a four-game homestand, but they will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face the Dallas Mavericks at 8:30 pm ET on Tuesday at the American Airlines Center. Keep an eye on the score for this one – both posted high point totals in their previous games.

The Grizzlies head into Tuesday’s game after surpassing an impressive 244.5 over/under points from bettors set for their last game against the Pacers. The Grizzlies outscored the Pacers with points to spare on Sunday and took the game 136-121. The victory was even more spectacular given that Memphis trailed by 19 points with 10:11 left in the second quarter.

Several players turned in solid performances to lead the Grizzlies to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaren Jackson Jr., who went 8-for-14 en route to 25 points plus eight rebounds and three blocks.

The Grizzlies were working as a unit and finished the game with 36 assists (ranked first in assists per game overall). That good performance was nothing new for the team: they have already accumulated at least 29 assists in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, winning is always good, but doing so with the highest score of the season is even better (just ask the Mavericks). They posted a 137-131 victory over the Trail Blazers on Sunday. The victory was nothing new for Dallas, as they now have four games in a row.

The Mavericks’ success was the result of a balanced attack in which several players stepped up, but Luka Doncic led the charge by posting a double-double with 36 points and 13 assists. Another player who made the difference was Quentin Grimes, who went 9 of 13 and scored 28 points plus five rebounds and five steals.

Memphis’ victory was its fifth in a row at home, raising its record to 14-7. As for Dallas, they’ve been on a roll lately, winning eight of their last nine games, a huge jump from their 13-8 record this season.

The Grizzlies hope to beat the odds on Tuesday as experts believe they are headed for a loss. Both teams have performed well against the spread, with Memphis going 15-6 and Dallas going 6-5 ATS.

While fans of both were happy after their last outing, their bettors probably weren’t as neither team covered. Looking ahead, the Mavericks are the favorites in this game, as experts expect to see them win by four points. It might be worth making a quick bet as they have a five-game streak covering the spread when playing at home.
