Crystal Dynamics has announced his decision to fire 17 employees to “align to better with [its] current commercial needs “.
In a shared statement on social networks, the developer clarified that this decision would not affect its “current project plans”, which include the perfect dark restart (developed in co-developed with the initiative) and a set of tombs without a title.
“We do not make this decision lightly,” said the statement. “Ultimately, this step was necessary to better align our current commercial needs and the future success of the study. It is not a reflection of the dedication or capacity of those affected.
“We recognize how painful this result is for the impacted and we are supporting them with transition and dissemination of opportunities.
“Crystal Dynamics remains committed to overcoming the limits of making great games. This change does not alter our current project plans.”
Crystal Dynamics staff faced a round of layoffs in September 2023, when ten people were fired.
This occurred after an important restructuring program in the parent company of the Ending Developer, which faced the collapse of an agreement that is believed to be worth $ 2 billion. The firm also faced more than $ 1 billion in debt.
Crystal Dynamics was acquired by embarrass in 2022.
