The captain of Wales, Ben Davies, described the chief coach Craig Bellamy as “MR CALM” after his team did a hard work of his World Cup qualifying qualifier to overcome Kazakhstan.
Wales was well below his best moment, but won 3-1 against a third team of Kazakhstan, which occupies the 110th place in the world, in Cardiff on Saturday.
Bellamy had the reputation of being a burning character during a successful but often controversial interpretation career in clubs such as Liverpool, Newcastle United and Manchester City.
Since he took over Wales last year, however, the former Wales Captain has proven to be more mature and considered.
“They made it really difficult for us, they were compact. You could see in the first half that we forced many balls when we really do not need to do it,” said Davies, who scored Wales’s second goal, Match of the Day Wales.
“In the second half we were much more disciplined and did the job, which is the most important thing. The goal [Davies scored] He arrived in such a perfect moment for us, the longer he spends to 1-1, he makes it a bit tense game.
“We have all been in games like that in which you understand it as favorites, you have many expectations of walking for a whole team, but you know that it is never the case. They are a proud nation that is in the field trying to win a game like us.
“The players were the most frustrated in the half time, while Bellamy entered Calm, entered with a plan, was clear in the messages he gave us and what he expected in the second half, simply asked for more energy and continued doing what we are doing.”
