Control Treatment developer Alan Wake finds first multiplayer game

Alan Wake and Control developer Treatment have made no secret of FBC: Firebreak, a three-player cooperative multiplayer spin-off set in the same universe.

A trailer shown tonight during the Xbox Partner Preview showcase gave us our first look at the game. You play as first responders within the regular Federal Regulatory Office, reviewing different disciplines in Regulation within The Oldest Area.

FBC: Firebreak could be Treatment’s first foray into multiplayer and will receive familiar updates after launch. However, it’s not intended to be a ‘game as provider,’ Treatment’s director of verbal exchange, Thomas Puha, told Xbox Twine.

“We have always made single-player games at Remedy and rest assured, we have more single-player games in development and they will be amazing,” Puha said. “But for a long time we’ve wanted to make a PvE multiplayer game. There are many of us here who love multiplayer as well as single-player. We don’t want to make the same type of games all the time; it’s nice to take on new challenges.”

Looking forward to the events of Regulate, FBC: Firebreak will feature more of the Federal Bureau of Regulation and its many agents working there, and more of its oddities, like killer sticky notes and weathered ‘power devices’ as weapons like a field gnome .

FBC: Firebreak will launch for PC and consoles in 2025, and will come to Xbox Sport Go live.

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the mission. Previously known under the codename Mission Condor, Treatment previously said the game would be presented as a premium product, not a free-to-play game. In April of this date, Treatment said that the game had reached peak production levels, and that work hours on a full Regular sequel were still coming out of the woodwork.
