Cities: Skylines 2 Developer Colossal Order has shared an update on the launch of the City Builder sequel console, confirming that it still has “more things we need to address” before it can be launched, and that it will not arrive before the summer.
Cities: The versions of Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 of Skylines 2 will be launched together with the launch of the PC in October 2023, but Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive announced a last minute delay in 2024. Their launch was delayed the problems of the PC, through the multiple of the PC.
Colossal’s most recent news on cities: the launch of the Skylines 2 console occurred last November, when he admitted that he was struggling to overcome the “hardware limitations” that impact the performance in Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. He pointed that I was not happy with the commitment and the need to contribute to the graphics and playable at an acceptable level. ”
Six months jumping in advance and Colossal Order has addressed the cities: the launch of the Skylines 2 console once again, and although apparently it is moving forward, it seems that there is still some way to go. “We continue to progress constantly in the version of the console,” he wrote in an update, “and our central approach has been further improving performance and stability. However, despite these advances, we have more things that we must address before reaching the level of quality and the experience we want for you as our players.”
“We know that many of you are anxiously waiting for the launch of the console,” continued “, but to establish the expectations clearly: we will not have a launch before the summer. We want to avoid any premature estimate and, instead, commit ourselves to provide reliable information when we are closer to a state ready for the launch. Our goal remains unchanged: to bring cities: Skylines 2 to comfort in the best possible way.”
The news is not completely positive in the front of the PC. Colossal Order has also admitted that he is struggling with the cities: the Personalized Skylines 2 Assets editor, a modification feature that he called “crucial” last September, when he announced that he delayed his DLC plans to finish and launch the asset editor. But in its last update, the study has said that the characteristic is demonstrating “more technically challenging than initially planned due to the strong amounts of incorporated assets affected by the changes, but is advancing.”
“Be sure that we are committed to solving these challenges,” he wrote, “and our dedicated team is actively progressing to overcome them. We know how many personalized assets they mean for you and, honestly, also for us, and we will continue to keep it informed of our progress as soon as we have something more concrete to share.”
“We appreciate your patience and enthusiasm,” the study concluded, “and we will share more updates as we continue to shape the future of cities: Skylines together.” He added that he will return next week when the original cities: Skylines celebrates his tenth anniversary.
