Milan are preparing for the Italian Super Cup semi-final against Juventus in Saudi Arabia and there are quite a few changes afoot for the team. Former Porto coach Sergio Conceicao will coach his first game as a coach against a Juventus team in which his son Chico Conceicao plays. But while there are many new features, Milan will once again have their talisman in the form of American Christian Pulisic.
Absent since early December due to calf and ankle problems, Pulsic has been out during a period in which Milan won two games and drew two while leaving coach Paulo Fonseca. With eight goals and six assists in all competitions, Puisic’s presence has been missed during this period in which Milan’s attack has cooled off.
Against a solid Juventus defense, Milan need everything they can get, which is why Pulisic’s return couldn’t come at a better time. With a place in the final against Inter at stake, there is more fire for the Milan derby ahead.
Pulisic will also have the opportunity to face his teammate Weston McKennie, who is in Thiago Motta’s eleven, while his American compatriots Tim Weah and Yunus Musah will have to start the match on the bench. With four Americans likely to take the field, this is also an issue that national team manager Mauricio Pochettino needs to keep an eye on.
