The Miami Hurricanes Campo Marshal, Cam Ward, has received a lot of criticism about his decision not to play in the second half of the team’s bowl game. Before receiving the Davey O’Brien award as the best university field marshal in the country, Ward intervened in some of those criticisms.
“Ok, you’re going to draw me or not,” Ward said. “If you don’t bring me, it’s your fault. You have to remember that you are the same team that must play with me for the rest of my career, and I will remember.”
Ward did not go to the field for the second half of the pop-tarts Bowl in December, which Miami ended up losing 42-41 at the hands of Iowa. In the first half, Ward broke the record of division I of the NCAA for most of the touchdowns of career steps between the level FCS and FBS (158) before leaving the contest.

“I think we all got what we needed. They saw things in which they believe they need to work … for this season,” Ward said about the decision. “And they also knew what I had on the line. We felt that we are doing our best for the program and for me. I mean, it was a difficult decision, especially when some boys of our team did not play those I thought should have played.
Ward completed 12 of 19 passes for 190 yards and three touchdowns in the first half, and the hurricanes had an advantage of 31-28 in the half time when he left the game. Emory Williams support served as Miami Campo Marshal in the second half.
Ward finished his university career with 18,189 aerial yards and 158 TouchDowns between his time at Incarnate Word (FCS), Washington State and Miami. Its total total yards only Sy former Field Marshal of Houston Case Keenum and Oregon Signal Camerador Dillon Gabriel.
The Campo de los Hurricanes Marshal has not decided whether it will launch to the NFL Scouting combines next week, but plans to do it on the professional day of Miami.
