Call of Duty veteran, Jason Blundell, has confirmed previous reports that he directs a new PlayStation studio first part, revealing what Dark Outlaw Games is called.
Blundell started from Call of Duty Treyarch developer, where he had served as study co-establishment, as well as games director in Call of Duty zombies mode, in 2020, and it was announced that he co-founded a new study, Sony-back deviation games, the following year.
However, the deviation found a “difficult situation” in 2023, which resulted in almost 90 layoffs, and the study finally closed its doors last March. Since then, there has been little additional word, but now Blundell has confirmed the reports in an interview with the journalist Jeff Gerstmann, announcing the name of his new team in the process. “I have had the incredible opportunity to create a new study within PlayStation Studios for Sony,” he said. “The study is called outlaw dark [Games and we’ve] I have been working in the shadows for a while, and when we have something to talk about, we will come to light. ”
“But you know that the story for me is about the game, not about the studio,” he continued, “so the reason we are not doing a fanfare or screaming from the rooftops is like, we are going to get something, right?” Dark Outlaw is still “with staff,” according to Blundell, but the nature of his first project remains secret. “I’m not really going to comment on what we are doing exactly,” he told Gerstmann, “but [it’s currently about] Make the gele equipment, making ideas click correctly … Let’s try those assumptions, and you know, is it working? ”
