If you’re like me, you may have at some point wondered how much money a PC gamer actually saves with a PC game Pass subscription. It turns out that’s a pretty substantial figure, as the total dollar value of games added to the service in 2024 will amount to just under $5,000.
This was deduced by PCGamesN’s Jamie Hore, who removed all 137 games added to the service in 2024, took their dollar value at the time they were added, and found that the total amounted to $4,812.63. For clarity, the price for a full year of PC game Pass is approximately $143. That’s a lot of money saved.

Now, there are obviously caveats. This figure assumes that you, the hypothetical PC game Pass user, are purchasing all the games added to the service at the time it is available. It’s also evident that you only really save money on the games you play. I don’t really care if I can play Starfield and save $30, you’d have to pay me a lot more.
But it’s a monument to the savings potential of game Pass that’s backed by data. There is also interesting data: we can see how much money you could save monthly in the PCGamesN article. April looks like a big winner with 17 games added to PC game Pass (five of which were day one releases). On the other hand, December was a bit disappointing, with only six games added to the service, two of which launched on the first day. Still, even in weak months like December, the potential savings amounts to $214.94. Not bad at all!
