It remains to be seen if the Assassin’s Creed game is the game that Ubisoft needs to be to be seen, but the Action RPG has apparently done quite well for the editor. Shadows launched less than a week ago and attracted more than 2 million players in their first two days of launch.
According to the new information, however, Shadows has had a solid launch, although a little less worthy of headlines.
In an internal memorandum obtained by Variety and VGC, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has seen “record levels” of player participation and “incredibly positive” comments of the players.
The sources also told the media that Shadows has had the second best sales income of the first day for any murderer’s creed, sitting just behind Valhalla. It is worth noting that Ubisoft did not share difficult sales numbers, or publicly or in that internal communication.
Ubisoft also pointed out in the memorandum that Shadows had the best release of the first day of any of his games in PlayStation Store. The game performance on PC was also strong, with the platform responsible for 27% of the game players base. It is said that Steam was an important taxpayer, which is especially noticeable since Shadows is the first murderer Credo since 2019 to launch in the day and the Steam date with the Ubisoft store itself and the epic game store.
In Steam, the shadows began in a decent maximum of 41,412 players with the concurrent peak. The positive mouth to mouth throughout the game caused many more players to win over the weekend, since it has now reached its maximum point in 64,825 (through Steamdb).
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, of course, enjoyed great impulse as a result of the 2020 pandemic, and came out in autumn, instead of March. However, this seems to be the best case for shadows.
