Square Enix has been shy about Final Fantasy 16 sales. Within a month of the Final Fantasy launch June 16, 2023, Square Enix said they had been “extremely strong”, but admitted one month after sales did not meet expectations.

Last week, we knew that the Final Fantasy series has now sold more than 200 million copies worldwide, consolidating Final Fantasy as one of the best -selling video game franchises of all time, even if sales have dropped in recent years.

Square Enix shared the announcement on social networks, along with the news that the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series has only sold more than 5 million copies worldwide.
