Netflix has fired numerous employees in Oxenfree Developer Night School Studio, according to a new report.
The current and previous employees, who speak under anonymity to the game developer, say that an unrelated number of employees was fired.
According to the sources, layoffs were announced in January and were a surprise for staff.
Night School Studio was acquired by Netflix in 2021, becoming the first game developer acquired by the transmission company.
For several years, Netflix has made clear its intention to branch into video games, as well as in its registered brand transmission service.
Players can access a selection of mobile and television transmission games as part of their Netflix subscription, several of which are Netflix exclusive.
However, in recent months he has also been closing numerous aspects of his video game arm, in an attempt to reorganize the interactive side of his business.
In October 2024 he closed his triple-A study, known within the company as Team Blue.
