According to reports, Rockstar has met with the main creators of Roblox and Fortnite about the potential to build personalized games experiences within GTA 6.
That is according to a new Digiday report, which cites three experts from the industry with knowledge of meetings. It is claimed that Rockstar plans to allow creators to modify the environment and GTA 6 game assets to bring their own intellectual property to their sandbox.
Creators on other user -generated game platforms, such as Fortnite and Roblox, can generate income when receiving a part of their sales of virtual items.
In particular, in 2023, Rockstar acquired CFX.RE, the group behind some of the most popular modification tools of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
GTA 5 Roleplaying exploded in popularity in recent years. The mod, which sees players use the GTA frame to create new game modes, is monetized by charging user subscription rates to participate.
According to Digiday, recent Rockstar conversations with content creators have remained “relatively open.”
“It is not clear exactly how the creators would benefit from bringing their IP and audiences to GTA 6, beyond the exhibition that would come from having a presence within one of the most popular game properties in the world,” he says.
Earlier this month, Rockstar Take-Two’s parent company said Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on the way to launch at the end of this year. During a presentation of investors that discusses their profits from the third quarter for financial year 2025, the editor confirmed that the game still appeared as “launch of the fall of the 2025 calendar”.
Last month, Bloomberg said that rival games editors are waiting for as long as possible to commit to their launch dates for the next fall, due to the planned GTA 6 launch.
They want to see if GTA 6 will make their deadline or will be delayed until 2026, with the aim of putting a significant distance between the launch of their own games and rockstar’s, it is affirmed.
