We’re drowning in Star Wars stuff in the works right now, and here’s another one to add to the bacta tank. A new trilogy that Lucasfilm would have reached an agreement for Simon Kinberg, known for his work on several X-Men films, to write and produce.

A report from Deadline is the source on this Simon Kinberg Star Wars thing, and the publication reports that it’s a three-picture deal driven by the writer, who has some Star Wars pedigree, as he co-created Star Wars Rebels along with the aforementioned Filoni and Carrie Beck.
Deadline claims to have heard that this new trilogy could comprise “episodes 10-12 of The Skywalker Saga that began with George Lucas’s first film in 1977”, which would make them a continuation of the last trilogy of new films that turned out not very polarizing at all. regarding reception.
Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter claims that the trilogy is “not intended to be a continuation of the Skywalker Saga” and will feature plenty of new characters and a new story.
What we do know at this point is Kinberg’s background, which includes X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: Apocalypse. He also wrote XXX: State of the Union, which stars Ice Cube instead of Vin Diesel as the lead, because 2005 was a strange time and there were some things going on behind the scenes that involved scripts.
