Third quarter report

What to know
The Kings and Hawks are 5-5 against each other since November 2019, but not for long. The Sacramento Kings will stay home for another game and host the Atlanta Hawks at 10:00 pm ET on Monday at the Golden 1 Center. The Kings will strut their stuff after a win, while the Hawks will bounce back from a loss.
Last Saturday, the Kings didn’t have much room to breathe in their game against the Jazz, but they still came away with a 121-117 victory.
It was another big night for De’Aaron Fox, who nearly had a double-double with 49 points and nine assists. The matchup was the third in a row with at least 30 points.
Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored the Hawks on Sunday, but the final result did not. They fell to the Trail Blazers 114-110. Atlanta took an early lead (up 16 with 5:21 left in the first quarter), but unfortunately they couldn’t maintain that momentum.
Despite the loss, the Hawks got strong performances from Trae Young, who scored 29 points to go along with eight assists and five rebounds, and Jalen Johnson, who was 10 of 14 en route to 25 points plus two steals. What’s more, Johnson also posted a field goal percentage of 71.4%, which is the highest he’s recorded since April.
Even though they lost, the Hawks worked as a unit and finished the game with 30 assists (ranked fifth in assists per game overall). That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they have now recorded at least 28 assists in six consecutive games.
Sacramento’s victory raised its record to 8-6. As for Atlanta, their loss dropped their record to 6-8.
Looking ahead, the Kings are the favorites in this one, as experts expect to see them win by 4.5 points. It might be worth making a quick bet as they have covered the spread the last three times they played Atlanta.
The Kings scored a solid victory over the Hawks when the teams last played on Nov. 1, winning 123-115. Do the Kings have another win up their sleeve or will the Hawks turn them around? We will have the answer very soon.
