Nintendo is planning to release an all-red version of the Switch OLED, according to a reliable leaker.
The product will be called ‘Nintendo Switch – OLED Model – Mario Red Edition,’ according to Dealabs user Billbil-kun, who has been consistently revealing unannounced products for years.
The console won’t have any other Mario branding but will have two red Joy-Cons and a red dock, according to their report.
The two main Switch OLED models are one with three neon-colored Joy-Cons and a black dock and one with two white Joy-Cons and a white dock.
According to Billbil-kun’s report, the dock and Joy-Cons for the new Mario Red edition will be the same color as the Neon Red Joy-Con.
Billbil-kun claims that “it is certain that it will be released before October” despite the fact that the release date is still pending confirmation.
This week, Nintendo will stream a special Nintendo Direct that will only cover Super Mario Bros. Wonder. If the console is genuine, it could be announced during this presentation.
The 15-minute presentation, which is scheduled for August 31 at 7 a.m. PDT/10 a.m. ET/3 p.m. BST/4 p.m. CEST, will offer a thorough look at the upcoming Switch exclusive before its release on October 20.
Super Mario Bros Wonder, which was released in June, is the first authentic 2D side-scrolling Mario game in more than ten years. The Wonder Flower, which alters each stage in a unique way, is its new gimmick.
