Fortnite OG will return permanently in December

The popular Fortnite OG rollback mode has been announced to permanently return to Epic’s Battle Royale game.

Last November, tens of millions of players flocked to Fortnite to watch a new season called Fortnite OG, which gave fans a trip down memory lane by taking Epic’s game to different phases of Chapter 1.

The launch of Fortnite OG sparked “the biggest day in Fortnite history with over 44.7 million players and 102 million hours of gameplay,” according to Epic.

While it was a month-long event, the company confirmed on Tuesday that Fortnite OG will be returning for the long term.

“OG is BACK and here to stay,” it said in X. “Relive Battle Royale from the beginning and explore the OG map, collect OG loot, and relive the OG seasons. Come back on December 6.”

Today’s announcement confirms a recent report from Fortnite leaker HYPEX, who said that Fortnite OG would return permanently. Last week they stated that the first 10 seasons of Fortnite, which comprised Chapter 1, would return monthly.

Apex Legends Season 23: From the Rift launched last week with a new mode that also recreates the launch status of the 2019 Battle Royale.

And on Monday, Blizzard announced Overwatch: Classic, billed as a series of nostalgic events taking players back to the game‘s early days.

The current season of Fortnite, Chapter 2 Remix, will run until November 30.

Epic recently revealed plans to simplify Fortnite’s pass progression systems. By December 1, all Fortnite passes will progress simultaneously by earning XP by playing any experience (Battle Royale, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival).
