Nvidia has announced that its GeForce Now cloud gaming service will soon introduce a 100-hour per month gaming time limit for paying Performance (formerly Priority) and Ultimate subscribers, although additional hours can be purchased for a fee.
Nividia shared the news on Reddit and said the cap would help it “continue to deliver exceptional quality and speed, as well as shorter queue times.” He also insisted that the move to an unlimited allowance would “comfortably accommodate 94 per cent of members”.
Paying subscribers who want to use GeForce Now for more than the allotted 100 hours per month (which is roughly three hours a day) will now have to pay more: an additional 15 hours will cost $2.99 ​​for Performance members and $5.00 for Performance members. 99 for anyone who subscribes to their Ultimate. level. Up to 15 unused hours will automatically roll over to the next month.
Nvidia’s new restrictions will go into effect in early 2025, but all existing subscribers, as well as anyone who signs up before December 31 of this year, will continue to have unlimited streaming time until January 2026. The company also notes that Anyone currently subscribed to the GeForce Now Founders Tier will retain their unlimited gaming hours for life, as long as there is no gap in their membership. However, switching to an Ultimate subscription will immediately apply the new terms, imposing the 100-hour monthly play limit starting in January 2026.
In addition to its playtime limitations, Nvidia has announced a number of new GeForce Now benefits. Subscribers to the newly rebranded Performance tier will soon be able to stream in 1440p instead of the previous 1080p, and ultrawide resolutions will also be supported. Additionally, all Performance and Ultimate subscribers will be able to save in-game graphics settings during streaming sessions.
