Some fans of the older Call of Duty games have expressed their desire for a long-missing classic attachment to make an appearance.

Due to the annualization of Call of Duty, features and weapons change with each release, making it occasionally difficult to predict what will return in the following installment, regardless of how well-liked it had been.
With so many eras in the franchise’s history, many Call of Duty moments are fondly recalled, whether they be scenes that are turned into memes, beautifully designed setpieces, or even gameplay segments that perfectly capture the power fantasy the games market themselves as. This last part can occur in both the single-player campaign and multiplayer, with the latter being particularly notable for the large selection of overpowered weapons and attachments it offers.
The Tactical Knife is one such accessory, and Reddit user chicken-master200 expressed their desire for it to return to the series in a post about it. It serves the straightforward purpose of changing how the player character holds their pistol and enabling quicker melee attacks, which frequently lead to quick kills. Even though other fondly recalled elements of franchise history, like Gun Game, have made their return, it is unfortunate that the Tactical Knife appears to have been forgotten by the developers creating Call of Duty games.

Some have suggested that Modern Warfare 3 be remastered to replace the mainline Call of Duty this year because there might not be one. This idea has the potential to bring back items like the Tactical Knife and other weapons and attachments. Remastering Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 with multiplayer would probably mean the Tactical Knife’s return and be a perfect testing ground to see if the modern players take to it. The other two games in the original trilogy have been released on modern platforms, with Modern Warfare 2 only having the campaign.
