Gladwin Moon Faces Odd Consequences in His Hogwarts Legacy Search for Demiguise Statues

Players of Hogwarts Legacy can’t help but notice a strange correlation between Gladwin Moon and the places where they discover Demiguise Statues for him.

During the events of Hogwarts Legacy, Gladwin Moon serves as the school’s caretaker, and the side quest that sends players off to gather Demiguise statues has some peculiar implications on his actions. Gladwin Moon is in charge of imparting one of the game’s many spells to the main character, like many other members of the faculty staff in Hogwarts Legacy. In Moon’s case, he gives players instructions on how to pick locks in Hogwarts Legacy using the Alohomora Unlocking Charm.

With the help of this crucial Hogwarts Legacy spell, players can finally enter Hogwarts’ Hospital Wing and gather the final three House Crests necessary to unlock the chest in their common room and begin the Daedaelian Keys side quest. However, Gladwin Moon teaches the players Alohomora in order to have them destroy a collection of Demiguise statues that are dispersed throughout Hogwarts and the surrounding villages. Gladwin claims that he has an embarrassingly irrational fear of Demiguises as a result of a bad experience from his time in Korea as a child, and he thinks that the statues are being placed in Moon’s favorite spots in a frustrating attempt to frighten him.

While some might view this as Hogwarts Legacy’s lame justification for sending players off into the wilderness, many of these Demiguise statues appear to be situated in dubious locations. Specifically, while the statues in the castle and Hogsmeade would make sense, many of them can also be found inside cottages owned by a number of witches throughout the greater Hogwarts Valley. As a result, many fans have begun to theorize that Gladwin Moon has been sleeping around, including OneFloppyDisk.

This information about Gladwin Moon hardly seems accidental given how meticulous and thorough Avalanche has been in bringing the Wizarding World to life at an unprecedented level and scale. The open world in Hogwarts Legacy was designed to be immersive and to exist independently from the player character interacting with it, from Ominis Gaunt’s distinctive way of moving around the castle to the portraits playing music in the hallway.

Players can rank up their Alohomora spell to the third level by collecting all of Gladwin Moon’s statues, which will enable them to unlock every lock in the game. Players who are starving for new content will have to wait since Alohomora is required to collect all the collectibles in Hogwarts Legacy. It may be some time before fans see a new adventure set in the Wizarding World that the development team at Avalanche so meticulously created, as the developers have stated that there are no DLC plans for Hogwarts Legacy at launch.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One ports release on April 4, whereas the Nintendo Switch version arrives on July 25, 2023.
